Why You Should Buy A Platform Bed With Storage

If you need more storage and have limited space then you should look at the platform bed with storage designs which are now filling our shops.

There are two basic styles of platform bed with storage. The first is when there are drawers underneath the bed. If you have a full or larger size bed then the drawers will usually open of both sides of the bed. If you have a single platform bed with storage the drawers will usually only open on one side. If you are buying a single bed be sure to check that you buy ones with the drawers on the correct side or you may find that your drawers are facing the wall.

These drawers tend to come in two styles; there are the narrow drawers, where you get two tiers of drawers under the bed. These are great for storing clothes or bed linen. If you want to store bulkier things such as spare duvets or pillows then you should look at the deeper drawer options.

The second style of platform bed with storage is when the whole top of the bed lifts up. This is great it you have limited space around the side of the bed in the room. Obviously when you access the under bed storage you are actually lifting up the platform and the mattress. The mechanisms on this are designed to make it as easy as possible, but it is still not something you would want to be doing on a daily basis. This sort of storage really is for things which will only occasionally need to be accessed.

There is often another choice when buying a platform bed with storage. Sometimes the manufacturers have made these so that an extra bed, a trundle bed, can be stored underneath the platform and it will look just like drawers. If you are furnishing either a kid’s room or a guest room this could be a good way to increase sleeping capabilities of the room without overcrowding it with furniture.

Whichever style of platform bed with storage you choose you will soon wonder why you didn’t discover these designs sooner. They are rather addictive and before you know it you will be using these style beds in all your rooms.
